Pre-K and Kindergarten Early Admissions
Due to high demand, we will be offering early admissions for Pre-K and Kindergarten for the 2018-2019 school year. Early admissions is open as of now and will close November 1st. Any remaining openings will be available during our spring open enrollment. If you have a student currently enrolled in Pre-K, please do not use the online form. A much shorter form will come home with your child!
We are excited to be able to offer a new part-time Pre-K option next year! Parents will now be able to register their child for a 2 or 3 morning option (8-11:30 am) in addition to our regular 5 day program. Drop Off Reminder
Please remember to use the northbound lane to drop off students not the south bound side of the street.
For your child’s safety, please use the drop off line to let your children off on the sidewalk, not in the middle of the street.
Cold and Flu Season Reminder
As cold and flu season approaches, please remember that our Parent-Student Handbook states that students experiencing fevers and/or vomiting must stay home until they are symptom-free for 24 consecutive hours. Thank you for your help in keeping our school environment as healthy as possible.
Fall Fundraiser packets went home on Tuesday. There is an option to register your student online so they can send out invitations to friends and family via email. Packets are due October 20th. Prizes will be awarded to the top three selling families. In addition, families who sell at least one item will receive free dress passes and earn emoji themed prizes. St. Mary Catholic School Family Directory
The school directory will be coming home with your youngest or only child next week. Many families have not returned their Family Directory Permission forms so their information will be put in from last year’s directory.
Please drop your Box Tops for Education and Norpac UPC labels in the pink collection box near the office. Each Box Top for Education brings 10 cents for our school and each Norpac UPC brings 5 cents for our school. Last year we raised $721 between Box Top’s and Norpac.

Feed My Starving Children
From the Santiam Canyon’s hands to the world’s mouth
Regis and Stayton High School students are joining a community effort to pack meals for starving children all around the world, through an organization called Feed My Starving Children.
It takes just 22 cents to feed one child a meal. Cashing in 11 bottles or cans would feed 5 starving children a meal. St Mary, as well as other schools in the community, wants to extend its support. We are asking each student to collect bottles and cans from their own neighborhood and cash them in. Money will need to be handed in to teachers no later than Friday, October 20th. Whichever class raises the most money will receive a pizza party. We appreciate your support.

The Community Mobile Pack will be at Stayton High School on November 4th & 5th 2017.
An additional pack on November 6th is reserved for Stayton High and Regis students.
The Green Sale is scheduled for December 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. This fundraising event features handmade Christmas swags/wreaths, centerpieces, themed gift baskets, vendors and a Sunday fundraiser breakfast.
WANTED: CRAFTERS/VENDORS. Space is limited to 6 crafters/vendors; 4 spaces left. Each space is $50.00 for 9 feet wide by 8 feet deep space. Each reservation includes both Friday (December 1, 2017) and Saturday (December 2, 2017). Registration deadline is November 9th. Please see flyer/reservation form for details. 1$/ticket or 5$/6 tickets. Raffle tickets to be sold at Regis vs St. Paul football game on Friday, October 20th at Regis HS. Game time at 7:00 pm. Winners to be announced during half-time. All proceeds will go towards the 2018 8th grade trip to Outdoor School.

2018 Auction Committee is gearing up for another great year!
Being a part of the auction committee is fun, exciting and a great way to get involved with families and our community. Plus earn share hours!
We are looking for 3 outgoing volunteers who would like to be part of our procurement team. This entails reaching out to a list of families and businesses for targeted items for donation.
Also in need of one person to organize our classroom projects. This person works with all grades to help coordinate with teachers and parents on selected class projects that will be made by the students and on display for the oral auction.

Pumpkin Decorating Contest
The Leadership Team is sponsoring a pumpkin decorating contest the week of October 23 – 31. Pumpkins are to be appropriately decorated or painted, not carved. Bring in your pumpkins the morning of the 23rd through the morning of the 28th. Bring your extra coins to vote for your favorite pumpkin. The money raised will be donated to our school’s Holt child. Scrip prizes will be awarded to the top five pumpkins. Have fun decorating!
The 8th grade class will again be sponsoring the Halloween Carnival for the school. This year Halloween celebrations will take place on Friday, October 27th, not Tuesday, October 31st.
Halloween Costume Guidelines
On Friday, October 27th, students are to come to school in their uniforms. They may bring their Halloween costumes to change into for the Halloween carnival. Please do not send costumes and outfits that:
- Have masks that conceal the entire head or face
- Dye your children’s hair
- Include make-up or face paint
- Are overly grotesque or violent characters, or that go against our Christian beliefs
FYI: The guidelines are in place to:
- Limit the amount of time spent getting into costume (i.e. we don’t want kids spending 20 minutes in the bathroom putting on face paint for 40 minutes at the carnival). So please send a costume that your child can change into in a minimal amount of time.
- Maintain a safe environment (i.e. Staff can still identify the children).
- Stay within our school’s mission and philosophy.

St. Mary Halloween
Join us October 31st, 5-6:30 pm for a safe and dry trick-or-treating event! Classroom doors will be decorated and little ones will be able to go door-to-door rain or shine. We ask that if you plan to participate, you donate one bag of candy to the front office for your family. This will help us to keep costs down and allow for everyone to go home with plenty of treats. This event will be open to the public so please, spread the word and invite your friends!
38th Annual Regis Green & Gold Gala Auction
Dinner tickets for the 38th Annual Regis Green & Gold Gala Auction,”Regis through the Years”, are on sale in the Regis office or by calling 503-769-6243. Dinner tickets are $60 each and include appetizers, soft drinks, wine, beer, dessert and a dinner consisting of an organic green salad, beef brisket, Yukon Gold mashed potatoes and corn with green chilies. Dress is casual, and attendees are encouraged to wear their favorite Regis attire.
