This year the update training for volunteers is Safe Haven. If you will be volunteering in any capacity during the school year, you must have an up-to-date background check, a signed standards of conduct, and complete the online training. To complete the training, use this link and follow the directions it provides.
If you would like to become a volunteer, please fill out this background check request form and then schedule a time with the front office to watch the Called to Protect video.
Thursday, September 14th is Picture Day!
Students may wear non-uniform clothes. (See dress code guidelines for non-uniform days)
More information and order form to come.
School handbooks will be coming home with your children this week. There are media permissions, technology agreements, and handbook agreement sign-off pages at the back that need to be signed and returned. Thank you.
The 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament is coming up very soon! It is our school’s first fundraiser of the year. This fun and competitive event will be at St. Mary Catholic School Campus; gates open at 7 AM and games begin at 8 AM. Visit www.stmary3on3.org for event details.
Registration extended until tonight (11:59 pm) September 8th. If you have not registered your team and/or know others who may be interested, please pass the information and email firstname.lastname@example.org to find out if spaces are available in division before registering at www.stmary3on3.org.
VOLUNTEERS: We are still in need of lots of help in order to make this a successful event and fundraiser for our school. This is a really fun event to be a part of and it is a great way to get started on your Share Hours. Please look at the linked list to see all of the 3 on 3 volunteer positions we still need filled.
If interested, contact Carmela Flett at email@example.com or text/call 503-621-6295.
Welcome back to school! It’s time to get down to business!
The first SCRIP orders are due tomorrow, Friday, September 8 (and delivered the following Friday, September 15). Make sure to get your first orders in this week.
The best part about SCRIP? It’s FREE money. You purchase gift cards at face value, the Parent Club purchases them at discount. That difference (profit) is split between your family tuition account, and the Parent Club.
Try it. Participate. Help the Parent Club earn free money. It’s an easy fundraiser, and you help by simply paying with gift cards instead of cash, check, or credit card.
Another good reason to purchase SCRIP? Tuition rebates. Yes, I said it, the Parent Club is still SHARING rebates (50/50) with families that want to keep part of their rebates to put toward the following year’s tuition. Last year, 28 families earned $3,300 toward their tuition, mostly purchasing groceries and fuel!
We’re already off to a good start. Over the summer, families and friends purchasing cards Postal Connections or Sofia, or reloading cards and purchasing ScripNow! online earned $1,500 in just 3 months! It’s a really great start, now we just need to get everyone participating in this great program the gives our Parent Club FREE MONEY!
So, how do you participate? Simple steps!
1) Create an account at www.shopwithscrip.com (if you don’t have one already); use enrollment code 62D8D89F5565. I will also be available on Parent Night to get families signed up, explain how to use the program, and answer any questions you may have.
2) Link your account to your checking account (with PrestoPay) and make purchases easy.
3) Don’t want to bother purchasing online? That’s fine, too! You can order with a paper form from the office, or you can pick up SCRIP at Postal Connections, or from Sofia Martinez.
4) Purchase gift cards for the places you shop regularly. Groceries? Fuel? Clothes? There are SO many options to buy for places you’re already shopping. Let me help you get started! Many SCRIP purchases can also be made and redeemed from your smartphone.
Everything you need to sign up was included in the packet sent home before the start of school. If you need any extra forms to get friends and family signed up, please let me know.

Share Hour Opportunities
For a list of current opportunities, visit the St. Mary Share Hours site and sign-up.
This website is new this year and we hope it will make it easier for parents to know about volunteer opportunities as well as lessen the work of logging your hours. Any opportunities signed-up for on this site will automatically be logged against the 30 hours (15 for single parents) that you need to complete. Come to the meeting to learn more!
In addition to our Thursday Folder, we now have a monthly E-Newsletter to tell you what to expect in the upcoming month at both campuses. To make sure you receive it, you need to to sign up here (no need to sign-up if you received the August Newsletter):
Please be sure your child/children are up to date on their immunizations. Thank you.
